A Stockbridge man was arraigned Monday on charges relating to a crash that resulted in the death of an Ingham County Sheriff's deputy.
34-year-old John Coryell Kelsey II was arrested by Michigan State Police Friday afternoon. He's charged with first degree fleeing/eluding police causing death and driving with a suspended or revoked license causing death.
Prosecutors say Kelsey was driving the SUV that Deputy Grant Whitaker was pursuing when he was killed in a crash December 7.
Whitaker's vehicle crashed into a tree, killing the officer just outside the village of Stockbridge.
Kelsey is being held in the Ingham County jail on a $1 million bond.
