A man suspected of attacking a gas station clerk with a hammer has now been identified, and now police are working to track him down.

Authorities released the identity of 21-year-old Navjot Singh as the man suspected of entering the Citgo station on Capital Avenue NE on December 28, robbing the store and repeatedly attacking the 25-year-old clerk with a claw hammer.

Authorities say Singh was a former employee of the gas station, and stole several hundred dollars from the register.  Detectives say that there is a chance Singh might be out of state at this time.
