Teen in Critical Condition after Crashing in to Store

A teen is in the hospital following a car crash in Battle Creek.

It happened at around 7:20 a.m. Thursday on Columbia Avenue near Riverside. Police say a 17-year-old was driving west on Columbia when he lost control of his SUV and crashed into a store.

The driver was airlifted to a Kalamazoo hospital and is in critical condition. The store building was heavily damaged. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
