Due to anticipated severe weather and winds, the Saturday, June 15th Juneteenth Family Day events will now take place at the Kellogg Arena, Festival Market Square and Full Blast.

Vendors who have signed up for Saturday, June 15 can begin setting up at the Kellogg Arena as early as 7am and should be ready to welcome guests by 11am.

The Friday, June 14th softball game at 6pm will remain in Claude Evans Park. Bring your lawn chair. . The movie, "Spiderman: Into the Spider Verse" will show at dusk. Concession snacks will be available for purchase during the Old School Softball Game Friday evening and movie after the game. All ages are encouraged to get in the game with our celebrity players. Bring your mitt and/or bat, some equipment provided. Free popcorn will be available on Friday night at the park.

With so much planned for the 2019 Juneteenth Family Day, the Planning Committee has made the decision to bring the celebration inside to avoid any interruptions due to weather. “The Kellogg Arena is the perfect place and can accommodate most everything we had planned for Claude Evans Park on Saturday,” stated committee chair Samuel Gray, “we are so grateful to city manager Rebecca Fleury and the Kellogg Arena general manager, Ben Randels for working with us to make this annual community event a great time for local and out of town guests alike.”
On Saturday, June 15th the Kids Korner, program and entertainment stage, retail and information vendors will all be inside the Kellogg Arena. Food vendors will prepare items at Festival Market Square and will make the choice to sale from there and/or bring it inside Kellogg Arena for sale.

750 free hot dogs, chips and pop will be available to the public while they last starting at 11am. The exhibition youth basketball games will take place at Full Blast, 9am – 4pm. Remember to enjoy BC Cargo shops while downtown.

Parking on Saturday will be available in the parking garage next to the arena at no charge, gate will be up. You’ll be able to enter the arena from Hamblin St or Festival Market Square. Events on both days are free and open to the public. In addition, retail and food vendors will be on site selling their items, so please remember to support these businesses.
