Time Magazine Honors Battle Creek’s Heritage Chevy Dealer
Time Magazine is working with Ally Financial to honor America’s Top Auto Dealers, and Battle Creek’s Tim Kool is one of 55 nation-wide finalists.
The 55 year old Kool has run Heritage Chevrolet with partner Tom Harris for more than 30 years.
Kool was nominated for the 2015 Time Magazine Dealer of the Year award by Terry Burns, vice president of the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association. Nominees were selected based on community contributions and achievements. Kool keeps busy, serving on about 8 boards of non-profit groups in the area.
Tim Grubbs is a Regional Director with Ally Financial (formerly GMAC), says each of the 55 nominees receive a $1,000 award to donate to their favorite nonprofit organization.
Tim Kool will be putting that money in a special fund for Battle Creek soldier Joshua Throckmorton, killed in Afghanistan 3 years ago. Throckmorton’s folks have worked at Heritage Chevrolet for many years, and he even worked there before going into the service.
Grubbs says four finalists will be selected and the winner will be recognized at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention Jan. 23 in San Francisco.
