Two men were lodged in the Calhoun County Jail, following a car accident in the ten-thousand block of Clear Lake Road in Pennfield Township, Saturday morning.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff Department, deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle crash and discovered that the car had left the road, striking a tree and that the occupants had fled the scene.

Authorities brought in canine officer “Turbo”, who located the men a short-time later, a half -mile away. One suspect was found hiding in the woods under a blanket.

The passenger was a 21 year-old man from Middleville and the driver was a 23 year-old man from Bellevue.

They are both being held on multiple charges.
