Two Battle Creek kids have been arrested after breaking into businesses.

Around 9pm Monday night, the Battle Creek Police responded to a break-in alarm at a business in the 700 block of Capital Avenue SW, where a window was broken.  Two young males were spotted at the scene, who then fled when they noticed police.  The pair were seen throwing away cell phones as they ran.

The officer caught one suspect, and the other was found hiding in a house on Eldred Street.  In the suspect’s possession, authorities found stolen property from the business on Capital Avenue, as well as property taken from a business on Columbia Avenue near Capital.

The two males, both 12-years-old, were arrested and lodged at the Calhoun County Juvenile Home.
