US-131 Crash Injures Three Saturday

A three-vehicle crash on US 131 in Kalamazoo County sent three people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 3:45pm, just south of Stadium Drive in Oshtemo Township, where traffic was backed up.

A semi-driver apparently could not slow down in time to match traffic, and slammed into the back of an SUV, which in turn crashed into a minivan.  Two people were sent to the hospital in serious condition, and a third was listed in critical condition.

A section of US 131 was shut down for almost four hours, while crews cleaned up the scene.
