The Battle Creek Bombers continue to add to their 2017 roster with the addition of two players that will operate behind the plate.

The Northwoods League squad announced Wednesday that they have added junior Justin Felix and freshman Aaron Antonini. Both players play catcher for their respective college squads, and join returning Bomber Jacob Blunt for their fleet of catchers.

Felix has entered his first season with Arkansas State after playing two years at New Mexico Military Institute. Felix has already started quickly from the plate for the Red Wolves this season, driving in nine runs in 11 at-bats. Bombers Head Coach Brian Solemsaas stated that he is excited to have someone with his skill set, adding that Felix " is a middle of the order type bat that does a great job of controlling the game as a catcher. His leadership and ability levels will be a great addition to the club."

Antonini is in his first season at Middle Tennessee State, coming of a senior season and North Broward Prep (FL) High School where he batted .355. He was also named to the all-county, all-district and all-star private school teams. Solemsaas mentioned that he is " looking forward to working with him and seeing how he can develop. When he isn't catching, he will provide a good option off the bench as he is a solid switch hitter."

The Battle Creek Bombers are getting ready for their 11th season in the Cereal City. They will open the season at C.O. Brown Stadium May 30th when they host the Lakeshore Chinooks. Their first meeting with their rivals, the Kalamazoo Growlers, takes place just two days later, when they host on June 1st.
