A 22 year old Battle Creek man has been arrested in the shooting death of another.

Battle Creek Police say Xavier Kellie-Sims was charged  Wednesday by the Calhoun County Prosecutor's Office with Open Murder and Felony Firearm in the death of 23 year old Elijah Williams.  It happened at a party on West Northside Drive on Saturday.

Kellie-Sims was arrested Monday night on an unrelated warrant and held in the murder until his charges were approved today. He is being held without bond and is expected to be arraigned Thursday.

Battle Creek Police are still looking for a person of interest that witnesses and evidence put at the party but has yet to be located. His name is not being released at this time.

Other persons of interest have been located and interviewed, with two arrested on unrelated charges.  No further information is being released at this time.

The initial investigation shows that several people were at a house for a party at about 4 o'clock Saturday morning when an argument broke out and several men started fighting. Evidence shows that at least two people were shooting and Williams was hit in the cross fire.

The investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to call Battle Creek Police at 269-781-0911 or Silent Observer at 269-964-3338.
