The Battle Creek Bombers continue to add to their 2014 roster with the addition of three freshman Louisiana State Tigers. The Bombers will bring on left-handed hurler Andrew Mitchell, right-hander Alden Cartwright and oufielder Cade Stone.

New Orleans-native Andrew Mitchell fanned 51 batters in 36 2/3 innings and posted a 1.34 ERA during his senior season at Jesuit High School. Bombers Manager Dan Trivett stated that Andrew will bring a young arm with pitching ability and intelligence to the squad.

Alden Cartwright will have an opporunity to play for his hometown of Baton Rouge this upcoming season with the LSU Tigers, after posting a 3.62 ERA 18 wins and 10 saves to go with 344 strikeouts and 94 walks throughout his career at Runnells High. Trivett is excited to have a dependable arm on his staff.

Finally, Cade Stone was named a 2013 Perfect Game All-American, after racking up awards in districts all four years, two All-Northeastern Louisiana, All-District MVP and All-State honors while playing in West Monroe. Trivett adds that Stone will bring speed to the Bombers basepaths this summer.

The trio will join returning Bombers Kyle Slack and David Stagg for the 2014 Northwoods League season, which begins May 27th.
