The Battle Creek Police Department and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department worked in tandem to respond to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm.

Officers from both departments responded to the 400 block of North 25 St. in Springfield around 4:40pm Monday, on reports of shots fired.  Authorities then tracked the suspect’s car to a house on Grove Street, made a perimeter around the house, and talked the male suspect out of the house without incident.

Inside the house, two 12-gauge shotguns and recently used ammo were found.  No one was injured in the shooting, and it’s not known why he fired the gun.

The man was placed in the Calhoun County Jail, and the Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate.
