Lions

The Lions won their second straight game, beating Oakland 18-13 at Ford Field. Matt Prater made three field goals in the first half to give Detroit a 9-0 lead. Oakland scored 13 points in the third quarter to take the lead. Sebastian Janikowski made a go-ahead, 48 yard field goal. Matthew Stafford had key quarterback runs to bring the Lions back in the fourth and seal the win. Stafford was 22-of-35 for 282 yards passing. Ameer Abdullah, Joique Bell and Riddick combined for 24 carries and 89 yards rushing. After Detroit was held to 27 yards of offense in the third quarter, Stafford capped an 80-yard drive with a designed draw to put the Lions up 16-13 with 11:04 to play. The Lions play in four days….the annual Thanksgiving game as they host the Eagles. Philly lost to the Buccaneers, 45-17 on Sunday. Broadcast time is 11:30am on WBCK.

NFL

The Packers beat the Vikings 30-13 to regain a share of first place in the NFC North Division.

Sunday Night Football

The Bengals lost their second straight after going 8-0. Arizona moves to 8-2 Cardinals with a 34-31 win in the final seconds.

Monday Night Football

The Buffalo Bills play at New England.

Nascar

Kyle Busch is the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion. Busch captured his first series title by winning the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The victory completed an improbable run for the 30-year-old Busch, who missed the first 11 races of the year after breaking his right leg and foot in a wreck at Daytona. Defending series champion Kevin Harvick finished second, while Jeff Gordon came in sixth in the final race of his illustrious career.

College Football

The Spartans wend from 9th to 6 in the AP Coaches Poll, and the Wolverines moved up two notches to 12th. The poll that counts, the new College Football Playoff Rankings come out on Tuesday.  Michigan State will finish the regular season Saturday hosting Penn State.  Michigan hosts Ohio State in the regular season finale this Saturday.

Pistons

The Pistons play in Milwaukee tonight. Detroit is 7-6 and the Bucks are 5-8. The Pistons lost to Washington over the weekend.

College Basketball
MSU hosts EMU this Monday at 6pm on WBCK.

WMU hosts Rochester tonight in Kalamazoo.

Michigan plays Wednesday in the Bahamas against U-Conn.

Tigers

The Tigers have re-acquired former top outfield prospect Cameron Maybin. Eight years ago, Maybin was traded to the Marlins in the deal that brought Miguel Cabrera to the Tigers. Friday, they sent reliever Ian Krol and pitching prospect Gabe Speier to the Braves for Maybin. The 28-year-old hit .267 with 10 home runs and 23 steals last season. With the deal, it is unlikely that the Tigers will re-sign Rajai Davis.

Red Wings

The Red Wings host the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night. Detroit beat the Blues in St. Louis 4-3 in OT on Saturday.

Volleyball

Bronson won a state volley ball championship over the weekend, but St. Phillip fell to Leland in the finals, ending a 9 season streak as state champs.

High School Football

St. Phillip lost the state final game in 8-man football. Coldwater lost their semi-final to end their season.
