You may not believe this but sadly in today’s environment you probably will.  A Genesee District Judge, Jennifer J. Manley, has sentenced the retired director of the state Department of Health and Human Services' Bureau of Epidemiology Corrine Miller, to write a letter of apology to the residents of Flint Michigan over her role in the Flint water crisis.

When I first read this I thought to myself this was like my mother ordering me as a child to apologize to my brother for whatever I did, and I did so begrudgingly with no real sorrow in my heart.

Are you kidding me, is this what our courts have come to?

Ms. Miller’s Defense Attorney Kristen Guinn did object to the forced apology part of her client’s sentence, partly because Ms. Miller still faces civil lawsuits.

She was also sentenced to do 300 hours of community service and pay $1,325 in court costs and fees, but they had to throw in the letter of apology.

The former Epidemiology was accused of failing to respond properly to an early report that Flint children had high levels of lead in their blood.

Is this the new route our Judges are going to take, if so God help us.
