Two men are in custody facing several charges following a fraud investigation by the Union City Police Department. It's also believed that they stole a U-Haul truck.

Earlier this week, police were called to Ed's Auto on reports of an attempted fraud. Two suspects fled the business but officers were able to locate them in a U-Haul vehicle at Broadway St. and M-60. The driver, Derrick Farrow, and his passenger, Joseph Chebli, allegedly both provided false identification. Along with that, Farrow did not have a valid license and apparently had multiple warrants. Chebli was said to be found in possession of suspected heroin and also had multiple warrants for his arrest.

The nature of the attempted fraud has not been released. Both men were taken to the Branch County Jail and are awaiting formal charges as investigations continue.

Union City Police Officers were assisted by the Michigan State Police.
