Hearing Set Regarding Battle Creek Housing Programs

A public hearing is set to take place during the Battle Creek City Commission meeting next Tuesday, regarding the city’s housing budget.

The City is seeking input from citizens on the use of funds for the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Programs, from the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purpose of creating affordable housing. According to the city, For Fiscal Year 2017-18, the City of Battle Creek is set to receive a combined $1.2 million for the programs, which they say is a 10% reduction over previous years.

The hearing is set to take place at the City Commission meeting Tuesday, March 7 at City Hall.
