For the second straight game in the postseason, the Marshall Redhawks faced a familiar foe and doing so for the third time. Entering Monday's Michigan High School Athletic Association's Class B Regional Finals, the Redhawks saw the Parma Western Panthers, the squad that finished in second in the Interstate 8 and just ahead of them in the standings.

The two previous meetings in conference play went to the Panthers, but the Semifinal carried much more weight. This game also took place on the neutral floor of Fowlerville High School.

A quick start from the Redhawks, led by senior guard Wyatt Crow, put them ahead earlier and kept them there into the locker room with a 25-22 lead. Western clawed back and into the lead early in the third quarter and couldn't stretch their lead beyond three points.

Thanks to an 8-0 run late in the quarter put Marshall ahead for good, as they knock out Western 58-50. The Redhawks advance to their first Regional Final since 2012, when they fell to eventual Class B champion Lansing Sexton.

Junior forward Jeremy Luciani scored 16 points to lead the Redhawks. Twin brother Jack Luciani scored six of his eight points in the third to spark the run. Crow finished with 11 points.

Marshall (17-6) will return to Fowlerville Wednesday for the Final against the Williamston Hornets, who enters the title game at 21-2. The Hornets spiked the Ionia Bulldogs in the other semifinal 62-44, beating them for the third time this season (both teams are members of the Capital Area Athletic Conference). This will be Williamston's third straight Regional Final appearance, advancing the last two seasons before being eliminated in the State Quarterfinals.

If you can't make the trip to Fowlerville, we'll have the game on the air, online and through our WBCK app beginning at 6:45pm Wednesday night!
