Recall Alert: Item Sold in Michigan Has Killed at Least 7
Seven children have died which has led to a massive recall of some toys that were sold at Walmart. Find out what those items are and what to do with them here.
Childrens Toys
Children's toys come in all shapes and sizes and with Christmas just behind us, the little ones probably have a lot more in their toy chests.
Toy makers are more creative than ever but sometimes as we all know, the kids like to put things in their mouths and that can lead to serious problems and even death.
Consumer Product Safety Commission Recalls Toys Due to Ingestion Hazard
Due to several injuries and seven deaths the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled some toys that were exclusively sold on Walmart.com. The toys are called Relax 5mm Science Kit, Large Hematite Magnets Magnetic Stones Building Blocks.
According to the CSPC, when high-powered magnetic balls are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other, or another metal object, and become logged in the digestive system. The result of this can be blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning, and death.
What Can You Do If You Purchased These Magnet Sets?
The recall date was December 28, 2023, with about 4,240 units in circulation. If you happen to have purchased one of these sets you need to take them away from your kids and put them in a safe place where they cannot reach them. A company by the name of JoyBuy which sold these through Walmart.com will provide you with a pre-paid label to return the recalled products for a full refund. You can contact Joybuy at 302.426.4543 M-F from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by email at oversea-service@jd.com, or online at www.walmart.com/seller/16214.
