He's no Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions, and there won't likely be chants breaking out for him, however, Vikings quarterback, and Michigan native Kirk Cousins will likely still cause a stir in Kalamazoo Friday as he opens up a new training facility for Michigan Youth.

Cousins, who ended his 2023 season early due to injury, is coming to Kalamazoo to open a new ETS performance location, and will be on hand to meet and greet fans.

ETS PErformance is an athletic training facility started by Ryan Englebert, who had dreams of becoming an NFL star as a child. During college, he was involved in an auto accident that nearly took his life, and in turn, also derailed his path to the NFL. However, he was motivated still, and worked hard enough to at least get a spot during training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2007.

Unfortunately, his NFL career never panned out, but he learned a lot about athletic training, and rehabilitation through his journey, and opened ETS with the goal of creating future professional athletes, like Kirk Cousins.

Where Will the ETS Location in Kalamazoo Be?

The new ETS location will be at 5111 East ML Avenue A15, and is designed to provided young athletes, specifically ages 8-18, with access to cutting-edge programs and training that will make them better athletes in the long run.

Cousins is a partner with Englebert in ETS, as is Wide Receiver Adam Thielen, who will not be on hand for the opening.

ETS claims to have produced more than 2,500 collegiate athletes, and more than 200 professional athletes since they opened.

Cousins will be at the new ETS location between 6 and 7 p.m.
