According to the American Petroleum Institute Michigan has the 7th highest total state plus federal excise taxes on a gallon of gasoline in the country.

Only California, Hawaii, Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington have a higher total tax per gallon of gas.

According to AAA the average cost for a gallon of gas in Michigan’s is $2.38, that put our price per gallon as the 13th highest price in the nation. In the Midwest, only Pennsylvania had a higher price at $2.50 per gallon. The state of South Carolina had the lowest price per gallon in the U.S. at $1.98 per gallon.

Well they had to raise our taxes right, let’s see how well they will spend our money and how fast they will come back and ask for more via higher taxes.
