The $500 million jackpot is the largest Powerball jackpot in the past 12 months. The cash option for Wednesday’s jackpot is nearly $338 million.

If a Michigan player wins Wednesday’s $500 million Powerball jackpot, it would be the largest Lottery prize ever won in the state. Powerball was a lucrative game for Michigan Lottery players in 2014. Four players won the game’s $1 million prize, including three winners in a four-day span last February.

Donald Lawson, of Lapeer, won a $337 million Powerball jackpot on Aug. 15, 2012. Lawson’s jackpot holds the record for the largest Lottery prize ever won in Michigan.

Players still have plenty of time to purchase tickets for Wednesday night’s drawing. Lottery retailers throughout the state are selling Powerball tickets for the drawing until 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.
