ZOOM bombing is the distasteful practice of people disrupting those meetings. It got bad enough for Kalamazoo that commissioners shut down the public comments.

City Attorney Clyde Robinson's recommendation was that Kalamazoo opt-out of allowing recreational pot businesses, such as growers, processors, and retailers, at least for now.

The Kalamazoo City Commission was in session for hours, and finally voted after 1am Tuesday, to remove the Fountain of the Pioneers amid complaints over its alleged racist iconography. After the 5-1 vote, the Fountain of the Pioneers will be removed sometime this year. A new location for the statue has not yet been found.
