Union City High School Back To Normal Today
Union City’s Community School administrators are expecting normal operations at the district’s high school today. The building was placed on lock down yesterday and a 14 year old student was arrested by Union City Police. Students reported the teen was making threats against other students. Union City police responded and located the 14 year old near the district bus garage and he had a loaded weapon with him leading to the arrest.
Officers say the teen denied making threats against other students.
Union City is about a 30 minute drive south of Battle Creek.
District Superintendent Ronna Steel sent a message to parents outlining the incident and letting them know that the district will have counselors on hand at the High School today to help any students or staff who were stressed by the incident.
