The NFL Draft begins tonight with Round 1. Four WMU Broncos could be selected in this year’s draft. That would give the 13-1 Broncos the most drafted since 1972, when teams made picks over 17 rounds.  Wide Receiver Corey Davis is projected to be drafted tonight in the first round.  Quarterback Zach Terrell, Defensive End/Linebacker Keion Adams, and Offensive Lineman Taylor Moton are also expected to be picked by an NFL team.

The Cleveland Browns pick first, followed by the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears.  The Lions pick 21st, 53rd, and 85th.

  • Corey Davis

    Position: WR

    Projected 1st Round

Davis is regarded as one of the top two wide receivers in the 2017 NFL draft.  In his four years at WMU, Davis was the most productive wide receiver in college football history with a record 5,285 receiving yards. A shoulder injury prevented him from playing in the Senior Bowl and ankle surgery kept him out of the NFL combine. Those injuries could cause him to slip out of the top 15.  Will he still be around by the time the Lions pick 21st?   Davis is one of 22 players who will be attending the draft.

  • Taylor Moton

    Position: OT/OG
  • Zach Terrell

    Position: QB

    Projected round: 6th-UFA

Terrell finished the year with 3,526 passing yards and 29 touchdowns vs. just four interceptions while adding three rushing touchdowns. Terrell was awarded the 'Academic Heisman' for his success in the classroom and work in the community. No NFL team has ever drafted a Bronco quarterback, but teams could see Terrell as a diamond in the rough, much like Tom Brady was when the Patriots drafted him with the 199th pick.

  • Keion Adams

    Position: DE/LB

    Projected round: 5th-7th

Adams played four years as a starter and got better and better each year. Adams had 7.5 sacks and a MAC-best 17 tackles for loss as a senior.  Adams may not be as big as some NFL defensive lineman but his speed could make him valuable as a situational pass rusher or outside linebacker.
