The Ingham County Prosecutor will not charge a Lansing Township police officer in connection with the shooting death of a 27-year old man after a traffic stop in early December.

Stuart Dunnings III says his review of a Michigan State Police investigation showed that the officer acted reasonably when Randy Minier Jr. waved a gun and refused to comply with repeated commands to drop the weapon.
Minier was a backseat passenger in a car that also was occupied by two other men.

The shooting occurred after the officer stopped the driver for speeding.

The two other people in the vehicle with Minier were not hurt.
Minier was wanted on an open warrant.
