Man Held In Fatal Shooting

Police have identified a man killed in a shooting Sunday in Battle Creek.  The victim, now identified as 32-year-old Xavier Lavosky Embry, was found in a crashed car on Wood Street after officers responded to a report of gunfire on Parkway Drive.

Investigators say the victim was shot outside the home on Parkway and was driving himself to the hospital when he crashed into a tree.

Embry was pronounced ‘dead’ later at the hospital.

A 30-year-old male was identified as a suspect and was tracked to a house on Howland where he was arrested pending charges.
