Apparently we really love our beer in Michigan.

The National Beer Wholesalers Association recently released report found that Michigan’s beer industry is certainly brewing.  The overall economic impact in Michigan by the beer industry was approximately $10.2 billion dollars in 2018 and supported nearly 62,000 jobs.  In fact Michigan beer distributors themselves employ approximately 4,700 people.

According to that report nationwide the U.S. beer industry including, brewers, beer importers, beer distributors and retailers “generates more than $328 billion in economic activity, more than 2.1 million American jobs and nearly $59 billion in tax revenue”.

Spencer Nevins, president of the Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association was quoted in a MLive article stating:

Thanks to Michigan’s beer distributors, our state is a Top 5 beer producer and home to some of the best-known breweries in the country and is poised to keep growing through a system that promotes fairness and a level playing field.

The question I have is are we a state of craft brews or national brands?

Keep brewing Michigan but certainly never drink and drive.  If you believe your life is not worth it I can guarantee the person you hit believes their life is worth it.
