Bogus Bullying Survey and the “Trump Effect”
Many of us of heard of the “Trump Effect” concerning what liberal pundits and a minority of teachers are stating that there is an uptick of bullying in schools due to the Presidential campaign of Donald Trump.
Well The Daily Caller new site has published an article concerning the survey that these media outlets and teachers are using as their proof of this so called “Trump Effect” when it comes to bullyng.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) commissioned this survey, by SurveyMonkey, as proof Donald Trump’s election is causing a surge of bullying in schools. Let us look at this survey that has now been exposed to have many flaws and again proves how these surveys are used to push an agenda and not produce real results or news.
SPLC has stated the following about their survey:
“The survey data indicate that the results of the election are having a profoundly negative impact on schools and students. Ninety percent of educators report that school climate has been negatively affected … A full 80 percent describe heightened anxiety and concern on the part of students worried about the impact of the election on themselves and their families.”
Really and how did they come up with that result, let’s take a look at it.
There survey does not even any guarantee that the respondents are real teachers. We found out that the SurveyMonkey survey which was used to collect SPLC’s data can be answered by absolutely anybody. The respondents can submit their answers anonymously, which means they can use fake data, or pretend to be somebody they are not. We also found out that there is nothing that would stop a person from responding to the survey questions more than once. In my unscientific poll questions I at least have a way of blocking people from answering the question more than once. I also can determine if people found a way to get around that blocking and if I see they have, I delete those multiple responses before reporting them to you my listeners.
Remember how the left would attack the internet based poll questions concerning Donald Trump’s effort to become the next president. They stated that he had an army of people who would find these online poll questions and basically take these online poll surveys and answer them as many times as they could, sound familiar to you. They also stated that those online poll surveys were unscientific and did not show the true feelings of the American people.
Well, let us look at what SPLC said about their own “Trump Effect” survey:
The results of this survey are not scientific. The respondents were not selected in a manner to ensure a representative sample; those who responded may have been more likely to perceive problems than those who did not. But it is the largest collection of educator responses that has been collected; the tremendous number of responses as well as the overwhelming confirmation of what has been anecdotally reported in the media cannot be ignored or dismissed.
Interesting is it not?
The fact that the survey that the SPLC commissioned is full of scientific holes that a semi-truck could drive through did not stop the nation’s liberal media outlets from pushing their agenda. NBC “News”, Politico, Newsweek, BuzzFeed, Vice and the BBC all used the survey to make a claim that the “Trump Effect” was real.
If you have not already you should start thinking about whether you should considering whether anything these media outlets report is real news. Is that not fair to say?
Bullying is a serious issue that needs to be addressed, but it needs to be addressed with real scientific studies not possible bogus ones. Who wins when teachers, media outlets and others use these unscientific studies, survey’s or polls, not the children who are being bullied but the teachers, media outlets and any other people who are promoting these unscientific studies.
These groups need to start thinking about the children first and not themselves.
Let’s talk about this today on The Live with Renk Show which airs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon. To let me know your thoughts during the show please call (269) 441-9595.
