MSP Investigate After Branch Co. Man Was Attacked With A Knife
Michigan State Police investigators are still looking for more clues in a felonious assault that happened after three men got into an argument while drinking.
It happened early Sunday morning on September 9th when the 58 year old owner of a home on Mercury Road in Gilead Township told a male guest to leave his home. The 62 year old guest reacted with a knife and allegedly slashed the homeowner on the neck. He then fled the residence on foot.
The victim called 9-1-1 to report the assault and was later taken by ambulance to a hospital in Indiana. He was later released with non-life threatening injuries. Troopers located the suspect and witness to the incident, which is still being reviewed by detectives.
Michigan State Police were assisted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.
