Your Complete Guide For Election Day In Calhoun County

Tuesday is Election Day here in Calhoun County and across the state and country, and the clerk’s office continues to remind people of what they need to be prepared for.

When voters head to the polls Tuesday, The Calhoun County Clerk’s Office wants to make sure you bring picture identification like a driver’s license, although this isn’t required; if you are unable to present photo ID, you’ll need to sign an affidavit attesting that you are a registered voter and without proper ID. However, voting without ID could make your ballot subject to challenge if someone believes you aren’t a legitimate voter.

As a reminder, you aren’t allowed to take photos or video inside polling places, and you cannot wear or display election related materials such as buttons, clothing, or fliers within 100 feet of a polling place. As well, remember there will be no straight party option this election, so you will need to go down the list and vote on each individual candidate; however, you don’t have to vote for every race if you don’t want to.

All 60 precincts in Calhoun County will be open to conduct elections on Tuesday, November 6th. The polls will be open from 7:00am through 8:00pm. Qualified voters standing in line at 8:00pm will be permitted to vote. Each polling place is handicapped accessible and voting instructions are available in alternative formats such as Audio and Braille.
