Car Deer Crash On I-69 Leads to Second Fatal Crash
Michigan State Police troopers are investigating a crash that occurred overnight on I-69 near M-60 in Calhoun County. One vehicle struck a deer on the southbound lanes and was left disabled in the roadway. The driver and passenger were able to get out and walked off the freeway.
But then a second vehicle approached and hit the first. The second vehicle bounced off the first and then veered off the freeway, through a ditch, and struck a tree.
First responders performed CPR on the driver, who was alone in the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital, but pronounced dead after arrival. The freeway was closed until earlier this morning.
