The search has now begun for a suitable candidate to fill the seat of Superintendent at the Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools.

According to a press release, at their meeting Monday the school Board of Education officially laid out a plan to replace Dr. Dania Bazzi, who recently took the job as the head of the Ferndale Public Schools. The district will be working with the Michigan Leadership Institute to head up the search.

As of now, applicants from within the community and outside it can apply for the job, by going to the district’s website. Citizens who wish to provide input on the search can get involved as well via an online survey; the survey asks for the characteristics and skills that respondents think the next superintendent should have.

The deadline for applications for the job is July 7. For more information, go to g-aschools.org.
