Monday, December 1 was World AIDS Day, and David Feaster - executive director of Community AIDS Resource and Education Services (CARES) - tells The Richard Piet Show the fight continues. Having said that, HIV has become more of a chronic condition as opposed to the "death sentence" it once was.

Still, there are about 50,000 new cases of HIV nationally every year, stigma keeps people from the life-saving move to get into treatment, and racism and homophobia work against efforts to keep the disease under control.
