HS Football – Defense, Special Teams Shine for Harper Creek

In Friday's Game of the Night, our road trip to Richland proved to be another phenomenal stop to kick off the 2017 High School Football season. For the second straight night, fourth quarter heroics would help another city team pull out a victory.

The Harper Creek Beavers only gained 83 yards on the night (all rushing), but the defense had two great plays that would provide the offense. Special teams would determine the contest against the Gull Lake Blue Devils.

Gull Lake would see the debut of a new head coach, a new offense, and a new opportunity to start the season 1-0.

A total of eight games took place on Friday, including an overtime thriller, an 8-man debut and a surprise for a perennial power to start the season.
