HS Football – Turnovers, Penalties Spike Spartans (VIDEO)

The Battle Creek Central Bearcats and the Lakeview Spartans continued their storied crosstown rivalry Friday with plenty on the line. Could the Bearcats move to 3-0 for the first time since 2003? Could the Spartans avoid an 0-3 start since 2010? Will Central maintain their lead in the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference's East Division?

Most of those answers would come in the second half, as the Bearcats held on to a 16-9 lead heading into the locker room. The second half saw a shift in momentum that would hand one of the City teams a victory.
