International Soccer To Be Played At Comerica Park In Detroit
International soccer is making it's way once again to the Motor City. It has been announced that a game will be played at Comerica Park in Detroit.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the home of the Detroit Tigers will host an international game between Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma on July 19th.
This game is a part of the International Champions Cup.
This is not the first international game to be in Detroit. The Silverdome hosted games leading up to and during the 1994 World Cup. Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor has also hosted games in the past few years.
This will be the first soccer game to be played inside Comerica Park. It is interesting because you usually don't see games like this played inside baseball stadiums.
Will see if this game brings some more attention to the sport in Detroit. In recent years Detroit has been trying to bring a MLS team into town.
Tickets for this game will go on sale on May 16th. You can get more details on the game at the Detroit Tigers team website.
