IRS Gives Us an Extra Day to Pay
Did you attempt to pay your taxes to Uncle Sam yesterday and received the following message:
This service is temporarily unavailable. We are working to resolve the issue. Please come back later and try again, or you can visit the Make a Payment page for alternative payment methods. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Well due to that technical glitch everyone will get one extra day to give your pound or in some cases many pounds of flesh to the IRS. You now have until midnight tonight (Wednesday) to file and pay your taxes.
According to The Washington Times the acting IRS commissioner, David Kautter, was quoted in an article saying:
This is the busiest tax day of the year, and the IRS apologizes for the inconvenience this system issue caused for taxpayers… The IRS appreciates everyone’s patience during this period. The extra time will help taxpayers affected by this situation.
Thanks David!
So all you procrastinators’ congratulations you were lucky this year and can procrastinate one more day, but only one more day.
Good luck!
