Nico Loves the Engine and the Cargo Space in the 2020 Ford Explorer ST

When you buy a vehicle, you often have to make some choices. Speed over towing capacity. Passenger space over cargo space. Practicality over fun.

However, with the 2020 Ford Explorer ST, we’ve discovered that compromise isn’t always necessary!

Thanks to Lakeview Ford-Lincoln here in Battle Creek, we here on Nico’s New Rides got the chance to take the 2020 Explorer ST for a weekend and put it through its paces. And let me tell you: This thing can scream! All you need to do is change its driving mode to sport, turn the paddle shifters on, and put your foot on the gas, and the 400 horsepower V-6 EcoBoost engine quickly responds and sends you flying down the road to the sound of its roaring pipes. I have never once in my life had this much fun driving an SUV!

But the Explorer ST is much more than just a speed demon, it’s also practical; it can seat seven people in its three rows, has plenty of room for groceries or other cargo, and can even haul up to 5,600 pounds! In addition to all of that, it has plenty of technology to help the driver along, including a driving mode selector (featuring things like sport, eco, and tow/haul modes), 360 degree cameras to help in parking lots, and a wireless charging spot for your smartphone.

To me, the 2020 Ford Explorer ST represents what an SUV can be when you decide you need it all. I can’t imagine what you might need a vehicle to do that the Explorer would be incapable of. Check out the video to see more and get a tour!
