After a pair of brothers joined the Battle Creek Bombers last week, a set of players from Virginia Tech will join the squad this summer.

The Northwoods League squad announced today that they will have redshirt junior pitcher/outfielder Tom Stoffel and infielder JD Mundy on their roster this season. Both are first year players with the Bombers.

Stoffel is a left-hander that has seen most of his action out in the field instead of the mound. After redshirting his true sophomore year he returned last season, starting in 41 games, batting .278 with 35 RBIs, including 11 multi-RBI games. He also owns the all-time hits record at Dayton (OH) Northmont High School with 154.

Mundy will enter his first spring with the Hokies after four years on varsity at Roanoke (Virginia) Northside High School. He is a three-time all-district and all-state player, and was named Timesland baseball Player of the Year last season, batting .550 his senior year.
