One of the main roads across the Kalamazoo River in Emmett Township is now closed until November because of a rebuilding project.

The Calhoun County Road Department announced that Raymond Road from River Road to Cliff Street is blocked off as crews will be demolishing the bridge and rebuilding. The project will cost just over $2.8 million dollars, with 95 percent of it being funded by a grant from Michigan’s Local Bridge Program. The road department will supply the rest of the funds.

The bridge is expected to be reopened by November 15th.
