Several times every year a storm system brings huge waves to Lake Michigan. But there are few storms that make the piers disappear. That's what happened today (6/13) at South Haven.

WOOD-TV's live cam captured the scenes of the extremely choppy water.

A live look at South Haven, where waves are swallowing the north pier.
Heavy rains and stronger winds are leading to extreme conditions on Lake Michigan and a warning from the NWS: stay out of the water.

Even seasoned West Michiganders where awed by the sight:

Holy moly...its very windy here today too.

It's the wonder of nature, baby!!!
