Thursday Night Football

New England stayed undefeated by beating the Miami Dolphins 36-7 in Foxboro.

Tom Brady threw for 356 yards and four touchdowns, including a pair of scoring strikes to Julian Edelman. Running back Dion Lewis hauled in 6 passes from Tom Brady for 93 yards and a touchdown. The Dolphins finished the game without four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Wake, who was carted off the field with an Achilles tendon injury.

College Football

Jamauri Bogan had a career-high four touchdowns Thursday to help Western Michigan defeat Eastern Michigan 58-28. The redshirt freshman WMU running back carried the ball eight times for 61 yards in the game. The Broncos scored 21 straight points in the first 6 minutes of the second half.

Undefeated Olivet, at 7-0, hosts 6-1 Albion tomorrow at 1pm.

15th-ranked Michigan returns to the gridiron tomorrow as they visit Minnesota.  The Wolverines are 5-2 overall and 2-1 in Big Ten play, while the Golden Gophers are 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Michigan State has a bye this week and will be back on the field next Saturday at Nebraska.

Red Wings

The Red Wings will host the Ottawa Senators in the first of a home-and-home series tonight. The Wings are 1-4 in their last five games. Head coach Jeff Blashill is making some changes, moving rookie Dylan Larkin back to the same line as Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader. Detroit is in last place in the NHL in shots per game and 20th in the league on the power play.  Blashill says Jimmy Howard will get the start in goal tonight, which means Petr Mrazek will be in net tomorrow in Ottawa.

Pistons

The Pistons are home at the Palace tonight to host the Chicago Bulls.

World Series

Game 3 of the World Series is tonight at Citi Field in New York, as the Royals lead the Mets 2 games to none. Yordano Ventura scheduled to get the ball for the Royals against Mets rookie Noah Syndergaard.

Tigers’ News

The Detroit Tigers have hired Rich Dubee to be the team's new pitching coach. Dubee takes over after Jeff Jones' retirement. Dubee was the minor league pitching coordinator for the Atlanta Braves for the past two seasons. Before that, he was the pitching coach for the Philadelphia Phillies for nine seasons. He was with the Phillies when they won the World Series in 2008, and when their rotation included aces Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee.

Tigers’ pitcher Daniel Norris says he's had successful surgery on the cancerous growth on his thyroid. Norris said on Twitter and Instagram on Thursday that he's "Cancer Free." Norris went 3-2 with a 3.75 ERA this year for Toronto and Detroit.

Baseball Changes

The Miami Marlins have hired Don Mattingly as manager and announced that Dan Jennings has been let go as general manager.

Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos has stepped down after six seasons at the post, rejecting an offer to stay on in a diminished role under new president Mark Shapiro. His departure comes the same day Sporting News announced Anthopoulos was chosen executive of the year after guiding the Blue Jays to the AL East title and their first playoff berth in 22 years.

High School Football

Pre-District games for High School Football are this weekend, with almost all games scheduled for Friday night.   WBCK will broadcast the game between Portland St. Patrick and undefeated St. Philip, Friday at C.W. Post Field. On Saturday, we’ll broadcast a battle of 7-2 teams, as the Vicksburg Bulldogs visit the Marshall Redhawks. Galesburg Meats will be there with WBCK and you’ll be able to enjoy some free Barbeque before the game with Nate Adams and Jim Hughes.

Lions

The NFL plays its second of three International Series games in London this Sunday as the Detroit Lions face the Kansas City Chiefs at Wembley Stadium. The Lions are in last place in the NFC North at 1-and-6. Detroit fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and replaced him with quarterbacks coach Jim Bob Cooter. The Chiefs are 2-and-5.

The pre-game starts at 8:30am, kickoff at 9:30am Live on The Rocker, 107-7 WRKR. WBCK will join the game at the half, following the First Congregational Church Service.

Nascar

Joey Logano completed a three-race sweep of the "Contender" round of NASCAR's playoffs by winning the CampingWorld.com 500 on Sunday. Logano headlines the field of eight for the "Eliminator" round, which includes Carl Edwards, Brad Keselowski, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch.

Volleyball

KCC lost to GRCC in three to fall to 1-11 in conference play, and 4-23 overall.
