The Grand Rapids Griffins swept the Milwaukee Admirals in a best-of-five Central Division Semifinal.  Kyle Criscuolo’s overtime goal gave the Griffins a 3-2 win.  The Griffins will next face Chicago, a five-game winner in its opening round against Charlotte. The seven-game Central Division Finals will start Wednesday in Chicago.

NHL Playoffs

The Nashville Predators beat the St. Louis Blues 4-3 on Wednesday night.  A good night for Nashville's P.K. Subban, who had a goal and two assists. Game 2 is Friday in St. Louis.

Edmonton Oilers blew a two-goal lead in a wild third period before beating the Anaheim Ducks 5-3 in their second-round playoff series opener.   Game two is Friday in Anaheim.

Tonight….The Washington Capitals host Pittsburgh.   The Ottawa Senators host the New York Rangers.

.NBA Playoffs

The Washington Wizards beat the Atlanta Hawks 103-99. The Wizards now own a 3-2 lead in their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series.   Bradley Beal scored 27 points, and John Wall added 20 points and 14 assists.

The Boston Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls 108-97 on Wednesday night and take a 3-2 lead in their first-round playoff series. Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley scored 24 points each.   Boston can eliminate the Bulls on Friday night in Chicago.

Tonight, the Toronto Raptors can eliminate the Bucks with a win in Milwaukee.  San Antonio is at Memphis, with the Spurs also up 3 games to 2.

The Utah Jazz have a 3-2 series lead over the L.A. Clippers and can win the series Friday night at home.

Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander has been fined $100,000 by the NBA for confronting a referee during live Tuesday’s win over Oklahoma City.

Tigers

The Detroit Tigers lost to the Seattle Mariners 8-0 on Wednesday in the second game of a three-game series.  Daniel Norris took the loss, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits in four innings.  The story of the game was Seattle's James Paxton, he lefty went 7 scoreless innings, and allowed just four hits while striking out 9 tigers.  Paxton is 3-0 with a 1.39 earned run average.   Anibal Sanchez gave up another four runs in the final four frames.  The Mariners had 15 hits, led by leadoff hitter Jean Sugura, who went 3 for 6. The two teams face each other for the final game of the series this afternoon. Justin Verlander will start for the Tigers.  Hear the game at 12:45 PM on 95.3 WBCK.  There is rain in the forecast, and it’s the final time the Mariners are scheduled to be in Detroit this season.

NFL Draft

The NFL Draft begins tonight with Round 1.  The Cleveland Browns pick first, followed by the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears.  The Lions pick 21st , 53rd, and 85th.

Four WMU Broncos could be selected in this year’s draft.  Wide Receiver Corey Davis is projected to be drafted tonight in the first round.  Quarterback Zach Terrell, Defensive End/Linebacker Keion Adams, and Offensive Lineman Taylor Moton are also expected to be picked by an NFL team.
