Lions Cut Bush

Running back Reggie Bush's time as a Detroit Lion is coming to an end.  The team is releasing Bush after two seasons. The soon-to-be 30-year-old had two years and seven-million-dollars remaining on his contract.

The Green Bay Packers are releasing linebacker A.J. Hawk after nine seasons. The 31-year-old had ankle surgery in January and was set to enter the final year of his contract.

College Basketball

MSU hosts Minnesota Thursday night.  The Spartans are 19-8 overall and 10-4 in the Big Ten.   The Gophers post a record of 16-and-12, 5-and-10 in the Conference, and have lost three-straight.  Minnesota at Michigan State….6pm on WBCK.  

The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday when they visit 16th-rankedMaryland.

Michigan is still without Derrick Walton, Jr., who has a stubborn foot injury.

KVCC beat KCC 76-62 on Wednesday.

In women’s basketball…

KVCC beat KCC, 78-71.

Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings play tonight inSan Jose.  Detroithas lost its last two-games, including a 1-0 shutout at the hands of the Kings inLos Angeleson Tuesday.  Captain Henrik Zetterberg missed his second straight game Tuesday and said he was still having symptoms after he was punched in the head during last Saturday's game in Dallas.

Pistons

The Pistons host the New York Knicks on Friday. Detroithas signed guard John Lucas the Third for the rest of the season.  The 32-year-old came to the Pistons after a stint in the Chinese Basketball Association and had signed a couple of 10-day contracts with the Pistons, averaging 5 points per game.

Tigers Spring Training

The Tigers’ first exhibition game is next Monday, March 2^nd, against Florida Southern.
