NFL Playoffs

The Green Bay Packers play in Atlanta Sunday for the NFC championship. The Pittsburgh Steelers play Sunday at New England.  The University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Central Michigan and other state schools will be represented by 10 players still in the hunt for a chance to play in the big game. Men’s College Basketball

Michigan hosts Illinois on Saturday at 2:15.

Western Michigan is at Buffalo at 2:30 Saturday.

Michigan State plays at Indiana on Saturday.  Broadcast time is 3pm on WBCK.

Women’s Basketball

Michigan lost to, #3 Maryland 83-70.  Katelynn Flaherty led Michigan (15-5, 4-2) with 30 points in 36 minutes. She moved into third place on the school career list with 1,666.    Maryland is 18-1 and 6-0 in the Big Ten.

WMU plays at Akron on Saturday.

Raiders to Move

The potential move of the Oakland Raiders to Las Vegas has started. The NFL and the Clark County Commission Chairman have confirmed that owner Mark Davis has filed the paperwork for a move to the gambling mecca. Any relocation to Las Vegas must be approved by three-fourths of NFL team owners.

NBA All-Stars

The NBA starting lineups for the upcoming All-Star game will include two members of both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. Cavaliers stars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were selected to the Eastern Conference starting lineup and will be joined by Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jimmy Butler of Chicago and DeMar DeRozan of Toronto. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant head up a Western Conference starting quintet that includes Houston's James Harden, Anthony Davis of New Orleans and Kawhi Leonard of San Antonio.
