The Red Wings lost 1-0 in Buffalo.  It was the fifth straight loss for Detroit.  Benoit Pouliot scored on a rebound shot in the second period as he stuffed a wraparound behind goalie Jimmy Howard.  With just more than three minutes left in the second, goalie Robin Lehner denied Red Wings forward Martin Frk with a left pad save on a 2-on-1 chance.  He also had a big save on a Henrik Zetterberg shot late in the game.  Jimmy Howard had 31 saves in goal for the Wings.  The Sabres had never beaten Howard in regulation. The veteran goalie still has never allowed more than two goals in regulation against the Sabres.  The Red Wings play at the Tampa Bay on Thursday night in the second of a three-game road trip.
