The Tigers sell-off has started, as they have traded right fielder J.D. Martinez to the Arizona Diamondbacks for three infield prospects.   The Tigers get infielder Dawel Lugo, switch-hitter Sergio Alcantara and shortstop Jose King in the deal. Martinez will likely be a free agent after the season. Lugo is currently ranked as the Diamondbacks No. 2 overall prospect by Baseball America and fourth overall by MLB.com.  The 22 year old is batting .282 with 21 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, 43 RBI, 40 runs and 21 walks in 88 games for double-A Jacksonville.

Tigers

The Tigers beat the Royals 9-3 in Kansas City on Tuesday night to win their fourth straight.  Matt Boyd threw a lot of pitches in getting into early trouble, as the Royals scored three in the first.  But the Tigers answered back with a five run second inning.  Nick Castellanos homered twice, hit a triple, and drove in five runs.  Matt Boyd settled down after the first inning to six innings and combined with relievers Shane Greene and Alex Wilson to shut out Kansas City the rest of the way.  The Indians lost to the Giants 2-1 in 10 innings, so the Tigers are now five games back in the Central division.  Justin Verlander gets the start in game three tonight in Kansas City.   Hear it at 7:50, on 95.3 WBCK.
