
Sports: Warriors on the Brink; Bombers streak ends
The Golden State Warriors have a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals after a 118-113 win over the Cavaliers in Cleveland.
Kevin Durant had 31 points for Golden State, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 45 seconds left. Klay Thompson had 30. Golden State trailed by six with six minutes to play, but LeBron James went cold, getting just two of his 39 points in the final minutes. The Warriors go for the sweep of the series and for the entire post-season this Friday night in Cleveland.
Bombers
The Battle Creek Bombers lost 6-5 in Kenosha on Wednesday. The Bombers scored four in the 4th but a three run ninth gave the Kingfish the walk-off win. The Bombers outhit Kenosha 11-9. Nikola Vasic hit a home run for Battle Creek. Game two with the Kingfish is tonight and they’re home Friday and Saturday to host Kenosha. The Bombers are 7-2 on the season.
Griffins vs. Crunch in AHL Finals
The Grand Rapids Griffins lost 5-3 in Syracuse in Game 3 of the AHL’s Calder Cup finals. The Griffins are up 2-1. Game 4 will be Friday at Syracuse. Game 5 win be Saturday at Syracuse at 7pm

*Game 7: Wednesday, June 14 - at Grand Rapids, 7
NHL Playoffs
Its game five of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight in Pittsburgh as the Penguins and Predators are tied at two games each. Game 6 will be Sunday night in Nashville, and Game 7, if necessary, will be next Wednesday at Pittsburgh.
Girls Soccer
Marshall’s girls’ soccer team takes on Holland Christian tonight in regional action at Plainwell.
French Open Tennis
It’s down to four in the French Open. Top seed Andy Murray plays No. 3 Stan Wawrinka and fourth seed Rafael Nadal goes against No. 6 Dominic Thiem.
On the women’s side….#2 seed Karolina Pliskova goes against #3 Simona Halep and Timea Bacsinszky will take on Jelena Ostapenko.
Tigers
The Detroit Tigers beat the Los Angeles Angels 4-0, in game two of a three game series, Wednesday evening.
Buck Farmer was stellar in his second start of the season, going 6 1/3 innings. He kept the Angels scoreless, striking out 5 and allowing just three singles to the Angels’ hitters.Farmer is now 2-0 and hasn’t allowed a run in 13 innings of work.
The Tigers put a run on the board in the 3rd inning. They loaded the bases without a hit off Alex Meyer, but settled for one run when Victor Martinez grounded into a double play, bringing Ian Kinsler in to score. The scoreboard remained at 1-0 until the bottom of the 8th when Justin Upton hit a homer to left-field making it a 4-0 game. Alex Wilson and Justin Wilson closed out the game, keeping the Angels off the board, keeping it a 4-0 game.
The Tigers go for the series win in the rubber game this afternoon. Michael Fulmer starts for Detroit. Hear the game at 12:45, on 95.3 WBCK.

Irish War Cry is the 7-2 favorite for the Belmont Stakes, the final race in the Triple Crown. Expected favorite Classic Empire is out because of an abscess in his right front hoof.
Sooners Coach Steps Down
Oklahoma Sooners football coach Bob Stoops is calling it quits after 18 seasons at the school. The Sooners won 10 conference championships and one national title under the 56-year-old Stoops.
