The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says that during this polar vortex weather that at times saw wind chills as low as -40 degrees F, they received reports of barking dogs left outside an Emmett Township property that appeared to be in distress.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 3000 block of 3 ½ mile Rd. in Athens around noon Friday, and while they were there they were advised of possible animal cruelty taking place in the area. Deputies responded later with a search warrant.
