Calhoun County Prosecuting Attorney won't file charges against 18-year-old who stabbed his mother's boyfriend.

A stabbing incident in Battle Creek early yesterday morning left a city resident dead. Police believe they have captured the murderer.

The 43-year-old man, who had cuts on his hands, wrist, and shoulder, said that the they been arguing when he was slapped and had his hair pulled by his girlfriend; she then grabbed a knife and started swinging at him.

The stabbing occurred in Battle Creek Sunday evening, where the suspect allegedly stabbed a man and woman after an argument over swearing.

Around 4:35pm Wednesday, the 34-year-old victim had been approached by an unknown man in the first block of Kellogg St. in the Urbandale area. The suspect allegedly initiated a fight

The incident was reported just after 9:00 outside TJ's Party Store on Meachem Avenue Saturday evening.

Witnesses said the woman, who appeared to be around 35 years old, stabbed the victim then left with her son in a car.

The Albion Department of Public Safety responded to a reported stabbing. The incident happened just before 2 p.m. in the 800 block of North Berrien St.

The Emmett Township Department of Public Safety says Thursday morning that their officers were called to the 100 block of La Grange Ave. after they received word that a man had been stabbed.
